Music and Art Appreciation
Here at Calvary Baptist School, we are passionate about the creative arts and teach that talents are gifts meant to be shared. God gave His children the very gift He uses often…the gift of creation! We absolutely love discovering the many talents each of our students possess. We look forward to developing and cultivating both creative abilities and educational journey.

The music program at Calvary is designed to teach the children the basic skills in music. The Pre-K3 through K5 department learn basic music theory using fun songs and solfege color identification using instruments as well as worship time in their classes. We have Recorder classes for 4th and 5th grades and Music Theory and Music History/Appreciation for our older grades.
Programs include: (each year flip flops christmas/easter performances between the elementary and the jr high)

The art appreciation program at Calvary is designed to teach children the basic skills in art and to also learn the amazing styles that have developed over the course of human history. 7th Grade students will study the great artists and the artistic styles that represent each in their first nine weeks.
Their second nine weeks will be focused on music. They will discover the classic composers from the past and what inspired them to create the masterpieces that we know today.
Events include:
7th Grade "Meet the Artists" Fine Arts show in the fall.
8th Grade "Meet the Composers" Music fair in the Spring.

What talented students we have! Our students dress up like famous artists and create paintings that represent famous artist’s. At our show, guests travel through time and meet famous artists while also learning about their work!
